There are three different themes where super hero's get there "powers". There similar but not at the same time. The first one is trauma. Batman's origin story is packed full of trauma. An example of trauma is: You killed my uncle now I kill you #spider man 2014. The next is destiny, like star wars. Luke's destiny was to kill his father dark Vader if that’s spelled correctly. Destiny is an event that was always meant to happen and will happen if you like it or not.

The last is sheer chance, have you ever seen those movies where a random guy stumbles into a cave and gets bitten by a radioactive armadillo and becomes half man half armadillo. That’s what sheer chance is. It’s the process of a random guy getting powers for only being at the right place at the right time. He or she has no reason to get these powers and no reason to use them in any way but profit. Most Super villains are made this way. Iron man does not count as a hero since he has no powers at all. No his suit doesn't count since it’s a machine. If anything his suits the hero he’s just along for the ride.
