Quinn’s story
Quinn walked down the road by the river without a care in the world. He often walked down this road when he wanted to think or just relax in general. Quinn was a light skinned boy. He had blond hair and brown eyes. “An unlikely pair his family and friends said on many occasions.
His family consisted of his mother and two brothers. Which on occasions would tease him about his hobby. When now when you think of hobby, you think games, reading ext. Quinn however hated cooking and didn’t consider games a hobby. He collected dimes. Weird right! Quinn loved dimes. When he saw a dime he had to have it. Like some strange impulse came and controlled him for those few seconds. Sometimes he could limit himself but only rarely. One day that limitation went away forever.
Quinn was walking home from school one day. By the hand of fate he decided to take a short cut through a patch of farmland. “It’s a nice day today maybe ill stop at the river Quinn shrugged out loud with faint aww from the suns refection on the corn field to his left. “Quinn” said a mysterious voice. Quinn stopped “There shouldn’t be anyone here today” Quinn said. He turned around and came face to face with a man he had only seen from old photos and videos.
Behind Quinn, standing between two corn stocks was Quinn’s father! Quinn’s father took a step forward with arms opening and said with a raspy voice “son give yea father a hug now why don’t yea”. Quinn stood in disbelief. First of all he noticed that he only help one arm out also he didn’t know that his father was British. However what really shocked Quinn was why his father would appear to him in the middle of a corn field? Quinn asked the million dollar question.
“Dad?” why are you here” while taking a step back. “Son yea all right its yea father?” “Now give me a hug why don’t yea” Quinn’s father said in a loud angry voice. Quinn remembered something, they had no photos of his father. He had no idea who this man was! Furthermore the man was holding something behind his back. “What do you have behind your back “father?” Quinn said in a happy voice to fool the man. “Just a gift for yah son” the man said slowly bringing his hand out from behind his back.
Pointing at Quinn from the man’s hand was a small black gun. Quinn’s belief confirmed took a step back. “Now now son don’t yea jump the gun” he said laughing harshly. “Yea know why I’m here so come along quietly or someone be a mess on the ground now wont we”. Quinn went into emergency mode. To not give the man any reason to shoot he reached down slowly into his pocket and pulled out a dime. “Bribes come in hundreds don’t they son” the man said. “Father” Quinn said quietly, “I don’t know who you are but this is not for a bribe”. “Well now we know who the mess is going to be now don’t we now Quinn”. The man said readjusting his gun to point at Quinn’s head. “I’m go ‘in to blow yea thinking box out I will”.
Lots of things had happened to Quinn in the past. Quinn was unlike any 16 year old you’re ever going to meet. The power of a red giant star barely compares to the power help hostage inside Quinn. Super strength, flight and telekinesis. All of this is child’s play compared to what power Quinn had stored inside his body. He didn’t know it but he’s going to get high. `
Quinn stood there unable to think what to do. He pulled out the dime and now what. His mother said that to always keep it close but what did she mean. “Everything alright there yea governor”? The man said with a sneer. Quinn held the dime tight in his hand, he wished with all his might for this to work. He concentrated on the dime. He thought that maybe if he wishes it to work it will. A load bang was herd. “Warning shot lad now come along or else”. Quinn took the dime and tossed it into the air. To his astonishment the dime remained floating up slowly. Slowly the dime climbed out of his reach. Quinn picked up a fallen corn stock and reached up to the dime. The corn stock though had the same effect and slowly started to pull Quinn up. Fortunately for Quinn it broke. He knew at least it wasn’t the dime that did it, it was him. He realized with a smile that he had antigravity. He had the power to laugh in gravity’s face. “Hey what yea doing!” the man said reaching into his pocket.
He pulled out some sort of phone the likes Quinn had never seen before. He pressed some buttons and said “Code red, code red he awakened”. Quinn thought of something, he closed his eyes and started to concentrate on himself. Sometime later He fearfully opened his eyes. He couldn’t believe his eyes He was floating far above the surface. Instantly he lost control and started to plummet insanely fast strait down to earth. As he fell he tried many times to stop but every time he was hit with a surge of pain. Again and again he tried to stop his rapid decent but couldn’t. The pain soon became too much to bear and he lost consonance.
Quinn woke in a cold sweat. At least he thought he was awake. He couldn’t see or move at all. Where ever he was it was noisy with so many voices passing around him. He felt a hand on his neck and everyone stopped talking. “Hello Quinn you must be awake by now” a voice said, seeming far away. “Don’t worry though Quinn your fathers waiting outside”.
